Boot Animation Installer APK

D4 Soft (or D4rKn3sSyS) from XDA has converted his Boot Animation Installer/Manager into an app for use on rooted devices. I tried it and it works GREAT. Only way to imporve it would be to include on screen buttons, as the only visible things are "swipe down to X". To apply, you need to press the "3 dot" menu to Apply, Backup, etc.
The download link is available in the second post on that thread over on XDA. I didn't include it in this post as I did not want to affect his "viewed" stats over there.

BUG REPORTING AND FEATURE REQUEST

If you're gonna report a bug, please be sure following this steps

1. Please, be polite, I'm doing this for free and for fun, you don't have the right to ignore all my work, and all the hours I spent doing this. I will just laugh on non-polite reports / requests
2. Write clear, the steps you followed for reproduce the issue, not just "x thing dont work, fix it"
3. If possible, attach a logcat

If you're gonna request a feature, please do the first step of bug reporting

Honestly, I stumbled across it while looking for the PC version to post over on the Galaxy Nexus forums. I don't like that he isn't supporting the PC version any more, but hey, the old version works and is still available, so.....

Yeah, but they are on his PC, not the Xoom. If he had to put them all on his Xoom, he wouldn't have any room for anything else.

im on cm9 and it seems like i dont have a bootanimation anymore. just stays at M logo until it boots up. I used this app and it says it was changed sucessfully but when i restart it hasnt changed. Is there like a option in Cm9 to turn on bootanimations or something?

Sounds more like a bad boot animation or a bad download. I would download a different one to your PC, then transfer it over and try it again. Or you can try a direct download if you wish. Just try a different one, even if only to test.

the preview worked........and it said it was applied

i see no reason why im still getting only the M logo

for me I had to change the permissions on the bootanimation.zip from rw------ to rw-rw-r--
that fixed it for me.
this is a new step since JB
