Conversion for media player box to tv

Hi i use your dvd catalyst to covert mkv's for my xoom
but due to poor hdmi audio out i bought a wd elements play media box
i going to put some of my films on this and play direct to tv as audio is super
what is the best setting to covert mkvs to best setting to play from my box to normal 16.9 tv.

Hi Zepper,

your MKV's should play directly on your WD.

WD Elements Play

While a conversion is of course possible, I would suggest to keep your MKVs as they are and play those, rather than converting them.

It will basically play everything, so if you are happy with the quality of the Xoom profile you already use, you can use those files on it as well.

yup it says on box plays mkv but i downloaded a blueray rip 7gig mkv and it wont play on box plays fine on pc
but not on WD just get a blank screen . was just hoping to get round the problem without downloading the file again.

The WD might need a firmware update, but if you convert it to Xoom format (if its a 720p version, use Xoom HQ1 or Xoom HQ2) you should be good for both.
