Setting to use to convert a .MKV to a format that will burn to a DVD?

I have dvd catalyst, and I am wondering if I can use it to convert a .mkv file to a format that I can burn to a dvd. I tried putting the .mkv file into the windows 7 dvd maker, and it can't read that format. I think it needs a more basic video file.

Is there is a video format I could try converting it to with dvd catalyst that would work with windows 7 dvd maker to burn it to a dvd?

You can use the Tivo > To MPEG format, which creates a DVD-complaint MPEG2 file, but I would suggest to try a free program called "DVD Flick" (DVD Flick) which should be able to handle MKV to DVD directly.
If you already converted your MKV to Xoom fwith dvdcat, you can use the MP4 file with DVD flick for sure.
