    Split Tracks

Is it possible to split tracks of a DVD into separate files? I have a DVD that I want to convert to Audio Only-> MP3, and I want each track to be a separate file. Is there a way to go about doing this?

    Of course.

enable the Power User checkmark, then tap on the DVD track, and you should have a few additional options.

Just enable the "split in parts of X scenes" checkmark, and leave it set to 1.
this will result in DVD Catalyst converting each scene into a seperate video file.

thanks for the instructions but im still having a problem.

i had 2 .avi files that i converted into .mp4 and cropped to 1:78 so their settings matched i then turned off crop borders and enabled the combine non avi files and when i try to combine its unplayable only on the "Mplayer" that opens another window.

so i tried putting the converted files 1 at a time to check their settings and both come out as 1:83 not the 1:78 i selected for both. now since they both have the same settings it should work but it doesnt and i dont know why its coming out as 1:83 when i selected 1:78 and thats with crop borders turned on so dont know why it didnt crop borders or it did but still says 1:83

im doing an update to 4.1.4.2 will this fix the problem?

I'm not sure if I follow you correctly.

You are trying to merge 2 avi files that you already converted to MP4.

why don't you merge the AVI files while converting to MP4. Leave the aspect ratio as is, and just merge them while converting to MP4.

i tried merging when they were .avi and i got the same response it combines and converts to .mp4 but quicktime, moboplayer, qqplayer and stock player dont play the movie but they did play the .avi except the stock player of coarse so the files are fine and when i converted them seperately they both played fine its just when i try to combine the only player that plays is the Mplayer in dvdcat4 which pops open the 3rd smaller window to preview the movie.

also i selected 1:78 ratio and apply to all when i converted but when i put the converted movies back into dvdcat4 and preview it shows them as 1:83 how come? i had crop borders turned on and it crop detecs i dont think this was having any problems with all the other movies.

also i noticed it says enable join for non avi files and these are avi files im dealing with could that be why? thats why i tried converting them both to mp4 then reconverting to merge them but no luck playing it on the laptop or xoom

The joining part is quite picky regarding the 2 video files.

It works best with avi files, but they have to be the same in nearly every aspect. When I originally implemented it, avi files worked fine, however for non-avi files, I was getting mixed results, which is why by default the joining part is only enabled for avi files.

A normal conversion with cropping on/off should work fine on your avi files, but adjusting pretty major things like the aspect ratio during the merging process is likely the cause of your complications.

Try a reset of DVD Catalyst, and then just join the avi's with your desired profile selected without any additional changes.
