Hi Mootfqa2,
I do have plans for a Mac (and a Linux) version, but I have had these plans since 2008 when I picked up a MacBook in order to develop it. Unfortunately, time is a bit of an issue, and the development tools I use for dvdcat are not available on the Mac.
I did write up something on how to get DVD Catalyst to work on a Mac, in combination with Bootcamp/VMware Fusion/Parallels Desktop
DVD Catalyst on the MAC, sort of | Tools4Movies - Home of DVD Catalyst
but other than that, I can't provide you with any specific release date, Sorry.
Looks like us mac users need to increase our BootCamp partitions a tad.![]()

I would recommend that you use bootcamp if possible, since with Parallels you have to consider processing power taken by both the host and client OS (Mac OS and Windows), and that Parallels on a dual core processor defaults to a single core for client OSes. Basically I am saying that encoding video in Parallels will be slower than through bootcamp.
Also +1 for MacDrive. Also for writing to NTFS on the OS X side, check out Paragon NTFS.

About to purchase a Mac. What does a macdrive allow you to do?
Okay basically a Mac's hard drive is formatted in what's called HFS+, which is just another type of file system like the FAT/FAT32/NTFS you may be familiar with now.
Windows doesn't support HFS/HFS+, though I'm told Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) came with a read-only driver for it that may be used in Windows.
MacDrive allows for full read/write support of HFS/HFS+ in Windows.
On the other side of the fence, Mac OS can read NTFS drives, which are by far the most common file system with Windows today, but can not write to them. Paragon NTFS allows you to read and write to NTFS drives.
Edit: Okay I think I overdid that. Easier to read:
Mac: Reads Windows drives, doesn't write to them.
Mac with Paragon NTFS: Reads and writes to Windows drives.
PC: Reads Mac drives IF you install the proper driver included on your OSX (10.6+) disc.
PC with MacDrive: Reads and writes to Mac drives.

Thanks for the info. Xero
So if I use DVD Catalyst to backup my DVDs using Parallels it will affect the quality or just takes a lot longer to do?
It will just take longer
