    conversion failed?

I am attempting to convert my .m4v files (that were created with the High Profile preset on Handbrake) using the Xoom HQ1 or HQ2 presets. Each time I proceed with the conversion, it scans the file (positions 1 through 5), begins conversion, and immediately fails. I can't seem to find a log, so would anyone know why this is happening? I can convert the file with Handbrake, however the file size is always larger, sometimes two to three times larger.

    Is it a protected file?

I don't believe so. Even if it was, it should just be reading the file and writing to a new one. However, like I said, Handbrake can read it and convert with no problem (other than crappy file size).

There are some issues with Handbrake created video files. In particular ones that were created with "same as source" selected for the framerate. With this setting enabled, HB produces files with a variable framerate, which results in wrong detection by DVD Catalyst and undesirable results with the conversion as well as possible crashes.

I am finishing up a new beta in which I address this issue. For now,l you can try turning off the Boosterpack in Global Settings > Boosterpack, and see if that makes a difference.

I'm getting the same FAILED status for all my MP4's that I ripped using Nero Recode. I tried disabling boosterpack and still fails. I would love to beta test any fixes :-)

Nero Recode files do not have the same issue as the handbrake file-issue described above. In your scenarion, I would suggest the following:

enable Power User, then in Global Settings > Advanced, turn off the MP4 fix setting.
