Conversion Works but with no sound

I am trying to convert some video files recorded from my Humax HD satellite video recorder so I can watch them on my Xoom.

The files I am trying to convert are MPEG-2 TS Video (.ts)

PC is running Windows 7 x64 professional.

I have tried several of the Xoom output options all of which do a good job but without any sound track!

After pressing the convert button a couple of small dialogue boxes flash up & say "MEncoder has stopped working" but the conversion then carries on & produces the output file all be it without any sound track.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I really want this to work & from the very positive feedback on here about DVD Catalyist I'm hopeing there may be a solution.

The current official release doesn't support some audio formats that are commonly found in (bluray?) m2ts files. I have a beta version with a newer conversion engine that will work with these.

enable "power user" then in Global Settings > Version into tap the beta button to download it (works in trial and retail)

Just given it another go with the Beta2 version & unfortunatley is still a no go as far as the sound is concerned.

Its seems to be quite a complex problem.

I will keep experimenting but do not hold out much hope for the time being.

Maybe the soon to be launched android version of VLC media player will play the *.ts files directly without conversion?

One last option to try:

in Global Settings > Advanced, enable the "dont use audio ID" setting. With some files the actual track ID gets detected wrongfully, which can cause similar issues.

Just run it through with the "dont use audio ID" & it now produces MP4 file with sound track.
