I bought the app yesterday and have converted 13 movies, its taking about 15min for a 90min movie and 20min for a 2 hour movie, very happy. Only issue I have run into is it won't convert "Once upon a time in Mexico", I dont know where to go to look for errors on how to troubleshoot, I just moved onto the next movie. Great App, well worth the $10. Now I just need to go buy a BluRay player for my PC, didnt realize how many blueray movies I had until I started looking for movies to convert.

I haven't had anyone mention "Once upon a time in Mexico", but in general, if the DVD doesnt scan properly, enable the 2 previewfix checkmarks in Global Settings > Boosterpack (4.0.2.7) or in Global Settings > Engines, select Boosterpack or Boosterpack2 as a scanning engine for DVDs.
If the movie doesn't convert, in Global > Boosterpack, disable the boosterpack checkmark (4.0.2.7) or in Global > Engines, select Original as a conversion engine.

I gave it a try on two short videos and it works perfectly. I made an adjustment of +15 on saturation and the videos look perfect for me now on the Xoom screen. Maybe each model is slightly different but videos were looking a bit desaturated on mine in the past and this fixes that. Others may not want colors to pop that much. This is easily one of the best converters for portable devices. It's ssimple enough for someone new to do the basics but also has enough modification settings to tweak it for your system and quality desire.

I'm glad you like the new saturation options. It was a bit of fiddling to get it right. Do the colors match of what you see in the preview? While I was working on it, I was staring at it for so long that everything started to look the same.

I wouldn't worry about it because each Xoom unit may be slightly different not to mention each persons monitor on their desktop is slightly different. The preview in DVD Cat was just about spot on when the finished file was played on my desktop but when moved to the Xoom I expected it to be desaturated slightly. I simply needed to know how much saturation was needed for it to look good for me on my Xoom and +15 seemed to do the trick.

I had a hard time trying to make the preview look the same as the converted file on the same system. The way it works in the preview is different than that of how it is used in the conversion engine, so I had to get my calculator out. Imagine my surprise when I thought I had it, and after 20 conversions I tesplayed one to find out that all looked like The Incredible Hulk

For me it was more about just having the ability to increase the saturation because no matter what you see on the desktop, it will be slightly different on the Xoom. From what I see, if this was for conversion for use on my desktop, this would be just fine as well. People should know to use those settings as a guide because even from my Evo to my Xoom there would be a difference I'm sure.

I found that it does not generate a thumbnail image. I went to Global Settings to test that feature and tried saving it in different folders but no image is ever created.

I didn't make any changes to the settings but I did a batch of 3 videos and 2 of them had the thumbnails made. Maybe it's just something with my system/settings and maybe no one else had this happen. It's not a major issue as I usually create my own album art/thumbnails.
