I have had a heck of a night. Yesterday I rooted my xoom and a few hours ago I installed a font that killed my Xoom. Had Boot loop forever. After trying all the tricks I decided to Go back to stock. I was an idiot and Locked the Boot loader which caused the LNX 0x0004 crap. Figured out how to get out of that with out buying or making the special cable. Now I am sitting here on Honeycomb 3.0.1. Well now its updating to 3.1.

My question is do I need to sit through all the updates till they are all complete? Or can I just root from any firmware ?

hi all, im new to xoomforums :)

ok, first off i have a UK xoom, and used the info here to install the stock US 3.1 firmware, and update to the US 4.0.3 firmware. (thnks to Ben the OP btw)

it works fine, until i restart into recovery mode (pwr + volume dwn) and i get a image of an android 'laid out' with a exclamation in a triangle above it, is this normal?

also i want to install the latest Team EOS + backtrack 5 (the Team EOS rom i will need so that i can use external USB wifi dongles for packet injection, monitor mode etc)

will it work ok if i use this how-to but replace the 'recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img' with 'CMW Rogue Recovery v1.3.0' from here?
