Xoom completely dead. HELP!!

Yes it is still within warranty. I just double checked on Motorola's website.
But I always consider that a last resort, mainly because I'm afraid they might send me a refurbished unit. Or is that a bit paranoid?
And because I'm gonna have to say goodbye to my xoom for a couple of weeks lol

I have opened up the case before to disconnect the battery. Does that void my warranty? I don't think there's any way they can know? There were no stickers or anything inside, the only things that stuck were clear plastic sheets barely sticking to the black protective foam. It was so unsticky though.

Technically yes! Only trained Motorola personal can open it! But....... I doubt they could tell

Is your Xoom stock or rooted? Have you tried getting into recovery? Press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the xoom starts to reboot, when the screen starts to change start tapping the volume down button until you see android recovery in the upper left of your screen, tap the volume up button to enter the android recovery. From there you can clear your cache partition and reboot or do a factory data reset and reboot.

It's stock. Like I said, I've tried "power"+"up" so many times. I've even tried holding them down for up to 3 minutes, yet NOTHING at all comes on the screen, not even the logo =/

and ya, do you guys know, if I use my warranty and return it to morotola, are they gonna give me a new or a refurbished one?

and I'd hate to hand it back to Motorola with my emails still in it. 3 months ago they just announced to recall some of the sold refurb units that still had user information unwiped..

i guess we're outta tricks with my xoom lol. but seriously it's weird. it won't respond to anything even though I never damaged the hardware, and the battery's still running.
