    [Kernel] Tiamat 1.4.4 (*3.1 Only*)(New 6/2/11)

The Tiamat kernel is confirmed to work on both 3G/4G and Wifi Only Xooms

*This kernel is for 3.1 ONLY*

***Credit for Tiamat, And Many Thanks To Bigrushdog***

    -Tiamat Version 1.4.4-
    1.7 Support

    ***READ CAREFULLY***

As a reminder you must be unlocked and rooted!

    Install Instructions:

1- SELECT BOOT IMG FOR DEVICE FIRST

    2- NEXT SELECT OC KERNEL

3- FLASH BOOT.IMG FIRST AND THEN KERNEL SECOND, BACK TO BACK IN CWM

There are a few different ways to do this, this is what I do-

    1) Download ROM Manager (Free or Paid)
    2) Download the zip from the link below
    3) Move zip to your external SD card
A- Using a file explorer ( ex. Root Explorer), copy and paste the .zip file to your external sdcard (/sdcard/external)
    OR
B- Put the zip on your SD card using your PC
    4) Open Rom manager
    5) Press the second button (Reboot Recovery)
    Xoom will boot into recovery
    6) Use volume rocker to select install zip from sdcard (Press power button to confirm)
    7) Use volume rocker to select choose zip from sdcard
    8) Select the boot zip file placed on the sdcard
    9) Select yes
Xoom will flash file and put you back onto recovery screen
    10) Repeat For OC Kernel of choice
    11) Select Reboot
    12) Sit back and bask in the glory

    Special Instructions

Release Notes for 1.4.4: 1.7Ghz is likely as far as we can push the Tegra2 cores. We have stress tested the heck out of 1.7 and it is safe. However, safe does not mean stable. Personally, I can run 1.7 on Interactive governor all day and it's smooth as butter. Other folks get reboots. If you can not run at 1.7, try 1.6. Everybody who tested was able to run at 1.504 without any problems. Just because this release is clocked to 1.7, that does not mean you can not run at stock speeds. Simply do not overclock. The settings for 1Ghz are identical to stock settings. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you leave your device on INTERACTIVE. You may use Performance solely for benchmarking purposes, but then PUT IT BACK.

USB Tether: Plug OTG cable into Xoom. Plug phone with microUSB cable into OTG cable. On phone, enable USB Tether. On Xoom, run the following in terminal or script manager (Scripter, GScript, Tasker) of your choice.

    Code:

    dhcpcd usb1
    setprop net.dns1 8.8.8.8

The Xoom will not show any indication that there is a network connection. But pull up your browser and surf away. Like I said earlier, I tested this personally on the Evo with a Sense rom. It works perfect. However, there are countless devices out there. Your experience may vary.

This may be a dumb question, but every time you change a kernel.do you also have to flash a new boot image?

No. Only for these that have the option for the charge light. Normally the light tweak is built into the kernel, but some don't like it so devs are giving you the option.

FYI...the Wifi Light On boot image won't load for me. The Wifi Light Off does work though.

I ahve tried twice now to install the new 1.4.3 kernel. The install seems to go fine but when I reboot and check the kernel version under Settings-> About Tablet it still tells me the kernel is 1.4.2. Anyone else have this problem??

Just checked, mine shows the new 1.4.3 kernel. Did you flash the add on after the kenel? Flash the add on first and then the kernel.

I first flash the Wifi Light off boot image and then I flash the 1.4.3 kernel. Did it twice. I couldn't get the Wifi Light On boot image to load...always tells me unable to read zip file so I have to use the Wifi Light Off boot image file

I have the new 1.4.3 kernel loaded and working now. I had to copy the file to the SD card from windows. Before I was copying it directly to the SD card with the SD card mounted on my computer.
