ics update for UK xoom users?

Just got ICS pushed to my HTC sensation phone!! if google can do that on a phone running froyo then it beggars belief that they/moto cant do it to a tablet running Honeycomb. Its faster certainly and the face unlock works better than it did on my Samsung Nexus Prime

Yeah I received my update on the SGII last week, can't understand why it's taking Motorola so long when the US have had it now for months? TBH I wasn't that impressed with it on the Samsung, not that much change and it still required a launcher to make it look nice so not expecting much from the update here.

I'm a big fan of swiftkey but admit I stopped using the 3 beta after a day due to new lack of designated? and! keys, use them a lot so its a pain not having them.

Update just got my Xoom back all is well i am composing this on it. )

Nope burtie, it was power and up vol, and I had to start the entire process again. but yet again I ended up with the Xoom saying "StorMgr Formatting CAC STATUS:||||done!" and xoot saying "waiting for XOOM".

I made the same mistake of copying the actual "MZ604_HWI69" into the XOOT root. I got confused since there was an existing recover.img in there already and I hesitated to overwrite it.

When I did that, it was stuck in a perpetual honeycomb animated boot screen. When this happened after some trial and error, even attempted to do a recovery (Pwr + vol up, then vol down) to no avail, Xoot wouldn't detect the Xoom device - I almost crapped my pants. I rebooted using PWR + vol up keys once more, and re-ran Xoot even while it was still stuck in the animated boot logo screen.

Xoot then controlled my Xoom and the second time around, it progressed further and installed the US rom.

Several updates later, I am now on 4.0.4 ICS, cool!

One of my most important apps - Netflix works, yay!

ICS is indeed snappier and the typing lag is gone esp when visiting this forum.

PS. If I want to revert back to the Canadian Xoom ROM, once I reflashed it, do I have to lock it? If so, what would be the process to re-lock it?

It would seem that Australian Xoomers shout louder than us in the UK as they now have their update date in June...
