Never Fear the iOwl is Here
Im running an unmodified, unrooted UK version Xoom, which has been updated to 3.2
Should I be able to mount thumb drives without gaining root access? or would I need to root my device? - I do have an OTG cable.
I just tried a usb mouse and a usb keyboard and they both worked fine.

Welcome to the forum.Glad you decided to join us. Even on 4.0.4 you need to be rooted to mount a thumb drive or HD, nothing has changed from 3.2.
