need help upgrading to ICS 4.04

Have std off-the-shelf XOOM wi-fi (usa) model, one month old, came w/HC 3.2, made routine OTA updates thru 04/01/12... added approved apps along the way...everything was working fine 'till the latest ICS update...began having WIFI connection issues, then slower page loads, next was slow boots (timed at 90 seconds!). Read something on the forum that prompted me to look at the version #...it's back at HC3.2 and keeps saying 'no updates necessary. Backed up to G-cloud, did factory reset, but the ios still won't update - to any release...pls help---this is running so slow I want to throw it out the door.

there is no way to force an update.so my advice would be to root it,and install ics.

In order to get an OTA your wifi needs to be on all of the time.
