WiFi connection on 4.0.4

Running stock GED on a Canadian Xoom. Got the notice to upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4. Everything was fine up until a few days ago. when the tablet goes to "sleep" i lose my wifi connection. When i press the unlock button and the xoom comes back to life in the notification area it say no internet connection. it does come back in about 10 seconds. It never used to do this. I did notice that it started happening after i downloaded a couple of apps, Temple Run and Groove IP lite. I am probably answering my own question here but could it be one of theses 2 apps? I do not know if this is addressed any where here on the forum but i was curious. Any thoughts??

Any thoughts??

- Remove the apps and monitor.
- Reinstall one of the app and monitor.
- Install other apps and monitor.

You should get the answer that you can share with us after you had monitor.

I have the same issue, and neither of those two apps.

my xoom was fine with 4.0.3 till i upgraded to ics 4.0.4, now my wifi has gotten sick. if xoom goes to sleep/idle, the wifi disconnects, but when i unlock screen to use xoom, it wont reconnect anymore, i tried everything i know wont work, the onlt thing that works is soft reboot, i can't be rebooting every time i need use my xoom. im frustrated with the rebooting, can anyone please assist me? thanks friends

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. Did you try the solution from post #4? Try settings/wifi/advanced/keep wifi on during sleep. Also try changing the channel on your router, restart your router and check if the router has a software update.

obviously that works, but the idea is to save battery. I've had my Xoom set to "only when plugged in" for when to keep the wifi on and had zero issues with that. Wifi would wake up just fine and reconnect until I went from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4.

Now, I have to reboot it to reactivate wifi.

new solution. Set my DHCP server to reserve a single IP for my Xoom and the problem disappeared.

Thanks for this. It seems to have done the trick, so far. Now lets see how the battery life will be affected.
