need quick confirmation about updating and rooting

i went ahead and just let it update on its own. its actually installing 4.0.4 now! not sure why it would fail before, but oh well, im in business now lol

Before you're rooted.

You cant except OTA when you're rooted. Flash to stock HC and let it update..now you're 4.0.4..great

If you thinking of rooting on 4.0.4..once you flash cwm recovery and root..do your nandroid/back up.

hello guys! recently got a xoom and wanna make sure im doing this correctly

my xoom is rooted on 4.0.3. unfortunately, the ota update refused to install so i decided to root 4.0.3 and be done with it...now come the constant notifications to update...


so, i just wanna make sure i have this right on how i can update to 4.0.4 and then proceed to root thereafter. at this point i would like to stay stock, but i will eventually flash one of the eos builds in the future. right now, i just need confirmation that im not missing anything


1. go here MOTODEV > Products > Device Software and download Build HWI69 for US Retail


2. flash these fastboot commands


fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock


3. then go here to root [Root] Universal Xoom Root - ANY XOOM ANY UPDATE - xda-developers
