New download link in place, and these can also be downloaded with goomanager of course. I will hook future versions up for update notifications via goomanager, but today's build was already in progress when my account came through.

Latest version now features goo.im notification support and an expand desktop power menu option, toggled from Settings, which is useful for gaming and watching video.

I know that about 400 people have downloaded this ROM in 48 hours since I put it on goo.im, but I don't get much feedback. Is there anything people don't like, or would like to see included? Not making any promises since this is very much a learning curve for me, but I will see what I can do if you ask.

Still a bit of a noob as far as custom ROMs go Zag but liking your efforts so far, been having fun trying out different ROMs such as baked and codename as well as cm and eos, trying to find the one that uses less battery just to wind up the misses on her iPad.lol, she's winning at the moment, bummer.

Cheers guys. Not so much looking for thanks as feature requests. Shout if there's anything you think you might like.

Latest release 20121009b fixes the problem in the calculator app by rolling back the advanced features which do not work for the wingray build. Some modifications also to allow more configuration of the power menu. There may be a pause in releases for a day or two whilst the 4.1.2 changes are merged into the CM10 base.

so you have stopped the aosp builds correct?

The AOSP builds were a great learning curve for me because the code doesn't compile out of the box so it taught me about the build system, but ultimately with an AOSP build the simpler you keep it the more satisfying it is to use, and I wanted to get into doing a lot more customisation.

I'm currently building for the Xoom and the Nexus 7 which is interesting because it teaches me about the difference in different size devices, so I hope to also get a nice Android phone soon and build from the same tree for all three. CM10 is supported for more stuff, so it seems natural to go down that route. Saying which, I am also thinking to add a stingray variant soon. I just need a willing victim to do testing for me.

I like the EOS gapps because it makes it easier to leave space in the system partition for updating su binaries, downloading hosts files for AdFree, replacing the boot animation, etc. If I use the standard gapps it means I have to cut more from the ROM to even make them fit, let alone leave space. You are welcome to try it, but it may cause you random problems, which is one of the other reasons I decided to go down this road when the CM10 source became available, because I found myself having to clear space every time I flashed it, and I do love my CyanogenMod.

I think everything in the standard gapps which is not in the EOS ones is available from the market, but if you want something which is missing I can add it to the data partition.

I might well do another AOSP build when we get the 4.1.2 release for the Xoom by the way, with new binaries. It is nice to have one kicking around for those who want a rooted pure android experience.
