also can take battery out of unit...put in plastic sandwich sealable Bag..then put in freezer for few minutes..This will flatten the battery [ much like your car battery on a below zero morning ].. dry off any moisture.. reinstall in unit ..connect to charger.. This has worked for me on occasion for home phone and laptop batteries.. good luck !

I dont know if it is correct but on the mot forum site there is a price list for out of warranty units and it says $99 for battery replacement. Hope its correct., I figure a bunch of us will need this soon. I think 100 bucks is right at the edge of acceptable for me to keep the xoom going. But that is a judgement call. My xoom is pristeen and works great and replacing it would be almost 3 times that price.

I found out maps was running all the time even when i dont use it so i froze the app, lone and behold battery time has improved by 65% life
I'm thinking of giving portatronics a try in the new year. I get about 6 hours or less of battery now compared to about 10-11 when new. 6 isn't bad, but it doesn't take me through a day of use.
Wonder what the difference is between a mz604 and an oem part battery? $10 difference for some reason. Would seem like the same part

The WiFi models should last much longer not having to power a 4g radio.
If you have a 3g/4g model and dont have a data plan you could flash mz604 ROMs and the cell radio should be disabled.
Also wipe battery stats in recovery i do it all the time and have no issues.
Most important is to use your battery dont leave the xoom constantly charging on the dock if you always leave it on the dock unplug the power cable.
