My essential apps Fav when rooted:
    - Masqed Crusader : Speed Up internet.
    - Titanium : Back Up and Freezed apps
    - Root Explorer : Access to system root
    - AdFree : Ads Blocker
    - And many many more

    Enjoy your Xoom 2

Bootloader is not going to be able to be modified still, root access has nothing to do with how Moto locked it down... We may be able to bootstrap...

Forgive the noob question but does this mean we can use fastboot commands to flash custom roms, boot images etc.? Or do we need the bootloader to be unlocked first.

it will allow you to flash themes and roms with stock kernels...through a compatible recovery
custom kernel flashing will only be possible after the bootloader gets unlocked

Thanks for the information. I assume we are now waiting on a suitable recovery?

I'm interested in getting my Xoom2 ME to connect to an AD-HOC wifi network.
I have attempted the Xoom fix for this posted either on this board or XDA but it doesn't work with the Xoom2 ME.

Reason for this ? I have a Nokia N8 that will only create a wifi tether in AD-HOC mode. Failing this, My mobile contract is up in May so I may opt for an Android Handset this time.

Got a N00b question too here : I am waiting for the possibility to read big mkv files from a usb key but those files are more than 4 GB, so they are on a NTFS usb key. Until now it hasn't been possible to read NTFS usb volumes with the Xoom 2. Now that a rooting method exists, is there a way to make this possible ?
    Thanks.
