I've been a lurker a long time. Not the best with scripting or adb, but I'm a linux user at home anyway. Working on my degree in InfoSystemsSecurity, so I'll get there. Thanks for the welcome. I'm not big on bricking til there's a sbf, but I'll test whatever you need.

I figured bootstrapping would be the initial take, then cross my fingers that the merger gets us some bootloader love. I really need to start learning this stuff.

aside from changing the kernal/OC/UC/UV -- you can load any rom that works with the kernal. Its still a great way to unlock the power of the device. I didnt run any stock stock benchmarks yet, but after I removed a few things I hit 6600 on Antutu scores. Im looking at getting 9000 once things get going and maybe the adrenaline shot. I literally have zero time to work on these things. Im a n00b anyway lol

Myself, as well. I guess it's time to start studying. If that's what it takes to get XB mods.. oh, so much to learn, though. Did you figure out which freeze killed your IR? The few I removed left my IR in tact, but antutu was only ~4500. I only stopped major bloat and no com services. I'll have to start getting my list together and bounce it off yours.

Well I have pulled the apart a few bootstraps, and in looking thru I have a few idea. And now to just build cwr for it.

I guess that would be as good a place to start as any. What have you needed to decompile them? I got up to the scripting/coding parts at DeVry and had to stop cuz my Army money got twisted up. I'll be back in the game soon enough. Luckily, I learn quick.

    Apktool.
U have device in hand right? Do we know the partition blocks yet?
Fedex just door tagged my tabs... err but I'll have them both later tonight after I go get them at their hub,
Also I pulled apart the razr bootstrap seeing its the newest, closest to the xyboard, I know the CPU is the same, and if I can find the device block for both I can see exactly how alike they r

i got ahold of the dev that made the bootstrap for the razr, and he had a xyboard and was working on a bootstrap for it, he has since sold it, and had not creaeted the bootstrapf or it becasue of the lack of fastboot files incase of a likly softbrick on the first few tries, i am in contact with him and i will be contributing one of the tabs to the cause.. so hopefully we can get some recovery on these bad boys

also i recomand bombarding moto with emails asking for the fastboot files for your specific tabs

here is a link to email them and u can just copy paste my email
    https://motorola-global-portal.custh...ountry_code/US

Will you please release the fastboot files for the droid xybaord 8.2
Based on your press release you said u would unlock the boot loaders on all your new devices, and since you are not keeping your commitments the least you can do is release the fastboot files for us
If you won’t release them publicly just send me a copy of the files to and i will sign whatever confidentiality forms required
thank you for your future help
