    what can be removed?

i figured i would post this as reference guide. i'll build a script once i get a sec

things ive removed that appear ok (and by ok meaning no FC, loops, HDMI/cam/radios work) these are the obvious ones.. I recommend renaming this from .apk to .bak. if it has an associated odex, it must be renamed too:

    accuweather_tablet_widget_1_1_6_b5_moto
    citrixreceiver/odex
    evernote/odex
    fuze/odex
    gotomeeting/odex
    helpcenter/odex
    kindle-OEM-3.1.1.1124339719-20110901_pasteur
    MCDownloadmanger/odex
    polycomm/odex
    remotemediaviewer/odex
    skitch/odex
    slingbox_verizontabletstub_final-2011.10.19-Pasteur
    Thedailyandroid
    vcast-vzw-signed-pasteur
    videos/odex
    videosurg-r214_pasteur
    vmm_16_android-1.6.242-1
    vzw_vnav_tablet_rel_PROD_signed
    blur_updater/odex
    upgrader/odex
    vzwpackageinstaller-vzw-signed-pasteur
    zumocast/odex
    bookstablet/odex
    Junosplaceholder/odex
    kpilogger/odex
    motopack.signed
    motoprint/odex
    motweatherclockwidget/odex

the ones up next on my chopping block are:

    blur-services
    demomode
    mediaprovider
    motoconnect
and a few others. if you have removed/renamed any of these please let me know and i can update this. if you have had bad experience removing any thing ive said was ok, please correct me. Ive been fooling around as much as i can atm, but works heavy.

I use several motorola devices including the atrix, d3, d4, razr, bionic, now the xyboard. Im starting a repo sync on hashcodes bootstrap to see if i can modify to work with the mz617/others. luckily this is a omap 4430 device and very similar to all the other moto devices. i will also compare the vzw/blur services against my other moto devices to see what i can/cant remove. I can then create a script to remove the bloat and restore it. Im not liable for anything you do to your phone. if youre not comfortable doing these things, dont. there is no SBF or a sure fire way to get back to stock once youve modified this device. youve been warned.

dijit is the ir program. myverizontab will cause FC's.

You're going to lose your IR transmitter if you remove a lot of the stuff you have listed as next up. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't lose it already, have you tried it? Be very careful, I won't be able to get mine back until Moto releases an SBF...

This is incorrect. With root and Titanium Backup you can remove whatever you want.

Ah! I havent tried my ir. Tbh i forgot it had one. Ive been slacking for sure. I will connect my ir tonight, depending. The things i removed are in system/app and require root. I can say i tried to remove myverizon from data/app and recd a lot of fc's. I will follow up with an ir status when i get it connected.

i have updated the op. will upload script soon. maybe deodex. then bootstrap/cwm

well my script abilities arent that great. im in a loooopdy loop. ill adb later

I think I also removed the My Verizon or something similar and got tons of force closes but they went away after a reboot.

the my verizon in data/local caused issues. my loop was not caused by renaming anything i posted about. i did something else lol. loop isnt cool when you dont have a removeable battery and you have to let it either burn your screen or loop until it dies. im not panicing yet i think i can adb

    Only things I've removed are:

Quick office hd (Replaced with Quick office hd pro)

Sling box (Replaced with Sling player)

    The Daily

Too nervous to remove anything else!

I removed a majority of those apps before finding this thread and havent had any issues thus far. i havent checked my ir tho. All apps were backed up with tibu then removed, in case. I've been scouring the forums for a compatible cwm and rom to come out. Fingers crossed for the bootloader, too, but not getting my hopes up on that one after my DX. I haven't tried the custom scaling to overclock yet, but I have antutu running with no issues. Would love to see more things going for my Xy10. Anything I can learn, I'm up for.
