    Modifikation without unlock

Just wondering which modifications can be done without unlocking the phone.
For now i was able to remove some apps and have my xoom2 automatically oced during bootup. What about theming, deodexing and zipalingment?

I would be very careful with themeing. There's no need to deodex. Is there an official SBF or stock image for the xoom2?

Afaik there is no sbf or stock image yet but man changes could be reverted via adb, at least when you get the tab to boot this far. Does someone Know if you can create a stock image and flash it via fastboot?

You can not flash any img that is not signed by Motorola , and be very careful trying to remove or theme, yes u can push anything back if u Jack it up and get into a boot loop, but if u r in a boot loop it depends on which kind of loop, if the framework has loaded u should be fine, and u will be able yo push via adb, but if u r messing with the framework and u get a boot loop its before the libs load and adb will not be available.

Also to the guy how said no need to deodex, u can really theme without deodezing... unless u can decompress the .odex file... which is not impossible but requires a lot more work

Has anyone had any success changing the boot animation? I want something more sexy than a Motorola Logo :-P

To change the bootanimation you must create a file called logo.bin (look up some tutorials on google) which then can be flashed via fastboot or packed inside a cwm recovery zip.
Those two methodes require a unlocked bootloader. don't know if there is another methode which just requires root.
but as runandhide05 said: if you get bootloop and are unable to use adb ur pretty much f**ked...at least for now.
so i would not take the risk to change anything which is loaded in the early boot process.

did a quick search: on my atrix i have to flash it via recovery, on honeycomb xoom I you have a bootanimation.zip in /data/local/
this file isn't present in my xoom2. maybe just adding a bootanimation.zip made for xoom in this directory will do the trick?
will test this now, even thou i don't think it will work^^

Yeah I used that method on my other phones I just wondered if anyone has done it themselves without a bootloop

ok i decided to be the guinea pig and the results are positive: it works like a charm

i used this anim from xda: [BootAnimation] *Updated* Retro Boot Animation for ICS 4.0 - xda-developers

renamed it to bootanimation.zip and pased it to /data/local

reboot and your ready to go
