WIFI stuck on connect/disconnect cycle
Hi all, new member with a problem (now there's a surprise)!
I have had my Xoom 2 (10.1) for 3 weeks now. At my home all was fine with the wifi connection to the BT home hub, staying with my other half and all was fine, then randomly after an update the wifi gets stuck on a permanent 'connecting-scanning-disconnected' cycle. It will only 'sort itself out' if I switch it off and then back on. When it eventually does connect I get a very weak signal which makes watching iPlayer or even YouTube impossible.
The set-up here is BT home hub wifi. I've tried hitting the 'forget' button in wifi settings and re-entering the passcode but to no avail. My settings seem fine I have the Xoom set to never turn off wifi.
I think I'm still on Honeycomb as the version is 3.2.2.
The wifi connection here is classed as WPA/WPA2 PSK.
I hope I have provided enough information, please ask if you need anymore. I would be very grateful for some assistance
Thank you in advance!

WELCOME! Happy to see you here! Hope you enjoy it here!
I have this problem too but its not a big deal for me!
1) Turn off WI-FI then turn it back on
2) Reset press and hold volume up, down and lock key until it reboots
3) Try "forgetting" your homes WI-Fi then reconnecting

Hi Ben, thank you for the warm welcome!
As mentioned, unfortunately 'forgetting' my wifi connection doesn't do anything, I have to re-boot the xoom everytime it happens which isn't massively annoying but it is considering it worked okay until only yesterday so something has obviously gone wrong somewhere, I'm holding the 7 updates responsible for now
I'll give the reset a go though, thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
Glad you decided to join us. I have the OG Xoom, hopefully some of our Xoom 2 members will have an answer for you. You can try changing channels on your router and see if there is a software update for your router.

Yes Grant brings up a good point! Try a diffent router channel. Otherwise instead of reboot cant you just turn off wifi then turn it back on?

same problem
similar issue as op- only happens with public wifi spots, especialy costa. Forgetting doesnt work. sometimes going into airplane mode then turning wifi back on works, but not alsways. Rebooting doesnt generally work. most annoyingly it seems quite random. anyone have any ideas?

Hi everybody,
I’m a new member and first of all congratulations about the forum, it’s really nice.
Well, few days ago I was in a hotel using my Xoom 2 (MZ616-32), when I got some updates available, as usual I started to update everything but for my surprise, my wi-fi was disconnected and since that never work again. The wi-fi stay in a cycle trying to connect but nothing happens.
Since of that day I’ve tried to connect, at least, at four or five different wi-fi and nothing work.
I have no idea about what could be happened.
I rooted my Xoom2 few months ago with no problems.
I’ve tried to restore for the factory settings but it’s not work, I’ve tried to use the conventional menus and during the boot using the volume and power keys. The only result that I got was a “Safety Mode” message in a left bottom corner, nothing beyond this.
Someone could give me an idea about what I could do?
I’m trying to find a original Rom but without success….
Thank you!
Giuliano

Hi,
I finally managed to restore my Xoom 2 to factory settings, but to my surprise the Superuser was not removed.... and the wi-fi still not working.
Any ideas?
Somebody knows where I can find a original Rom to Xoom2?
Tks,
