Rooting a Xoom 2

Hi All,

Just got a UK spec Xoom2 ME edition, togo with my xoom10" which is already rooted when i got it.

Are there any benefits in rooting this xoom2 8.2".

your advice would be greatly appriciated.

Well...... as you know no ROMS

But....

Overclocking
AdBlocker
RootBrowser...... Just to hack games, etc

So yes ROOT! IMHO...... It is yours though

Would it make this tablet any faster, it seems very slow compared to my 10" Xoom.

Root shouldn't make it any faster, you'll need to be able to OC for that by flashing a kernel and I don't believe you can do that yet on the Xoom 2 yet.

Cheers Grant for that. I must admit that sofar i am very dissapointed with the xoom2. It seems to lag a lot and the browser is very slow.

You cannot accept official update when you're rooted. Need to return to stock..updatte to ICS and rooted again.

Of course you can get the update. With root you can also overclock the device and remove unnecessary system applications. I have managed to improve my xoom2 performance significant. Make sure that you wiil keep backup to any chances you will make.
