Thumbs up By the end of july...august...whats next? c'mon moto?!

Don't know if many of you guys were recently checking the availability of Moto's Xoom2 on their website,
but i can tell you i did every now and then.

The reason is that Moto listed at least the 10.1 inch Xoom2 as unavaillable on their German website, saying there would be updated models by the end of july.
I in some way thought that could mean some ICS-action, even though ics is still in development for our device, but hey, its early 3rd quarter

But sadly the only thing that got updated was the homepage itself saying there will be updated devices availlable by the end of august.

Really Moto?! I don't know if I should be dissapointed because of the lack of dedication for this device or take a more stoic attitude since this was exactly what i expected even though i wished it would have come the other way.

Now it's your turn. Anyone got info what these "updates" were supposed to mean and what do you think about this?

    greetings

Their hamsters can't churn out any updates for their existing products.

I hope they don't make it worse by adding any more!

Ok i have to admit I didn't read the news on the main page of xoomforums about microsoft's lawsuit.
Since the Xoom2 is also using the FAT32 file system it's probably banned from sale as well. Maybe the reason why the update takes so long is the coversation from fat to ext3/4 and a new way of file synchronisation?

Haven't Apple managed to ban it in Germany? Or is that the Galaxy Tab?

ICS is still due for Q3, so we've got about a month and a half to go before we can really start throwing molotovs. Although as they are sure that it will meet the deadline, you'd think they could give us a hint as to completion progress - yet that would of course open the doors to "Moto said Wednesday, it's now Thursday, F*** YOU MOTORLA RABBLE RABBLE'. This way, any time before the end of Sept is considered 'on time'.

actually microsoft managed to get some devices of moto banned from the german market because they break some patents about using the fat32 file system, i guess the xoom2 belongs to them.

just to keep you updated : now the website tells us that updated models will come this month
now that it isn't saying "by the end of.. ." the update might hopefully be right round the corner

Anyone knows a way to get this update in germany yet? Mz616.en.eu is the exact one i would need. Is the file still stored on your device? If yes could you upload it?
