Power pack? My wall charger is just the plug and a cord.

It might be because i bought my xoom in Italy but i have a standard battery charger notebook style with a heavy power pack so what I'm looking for is a normal charger like any other mobile phones or tablet.

go to bestbuy or verizon and you can get the normal that comes with it here in the usa. it is a pretty small wallwart with folding prongs so it is sort of compact. can probably see it on the motorola or verizon sites. and with a plug adapter it will work pretty much anywhere in the world

edit: just realized you may not be in the USA? if not maybe Amazon.com?

:-) yep, you're right, I'm from Italy! Anyway I have a business trip in the states by end of october and I'll be in Chicago; there's a bestbuy in Michigan avenue and a radio shack too (don't know if there something for me there though...). Thanks for the suggestion but it's still not clear to me why in Europe, or at least in Italy, we don't have a "normal" charger...attached you can see my charger...

only reason I can think of would be that they can use the same charger in each country and just replace the short plug cord to match the AC outlet style as needed. Or maybe the one we get here doesnt meet all the electrical safety standards where you are. that wont fit in my nice thin case though for sure!

I don't know how much the charger by itself is, but the standard dock comes with the power cable. Might be more cost effective getting that instead.

That's the "universal" powerpack. Works 100 to 240 v 50/60 cycle AC. You just change the wall cord if in another country, including the US. The US charger is smaller and has the wall socket plug blades built into the wall wart. You get a blade adapter to us it in other parts of the world.

Whatever you get it MUST be 12v DC at at least 1.5 amps output capable. You can NOT charge it via the USB port no matter what.
