    Exclamation OTG Cable [SUPPORT/HELP]

    I recieved a working OTG Cable today..
    (im having some permission issuse on certin actions) (i will be posting error reports here)
    please anyone post problems and solutions here

    also list if your stock rooted,and what software setup you have.

    Question

    error: when using androzip to move .avi file i get a restricted due to permissions error..
    problem: cant open a .avi file using rootexplorer or rockplayer(no actions avaliable...

    Edit: using rootexplorer i was able to move the .avi into Downloads folder on xoom internal 32gb drive and play it rockplayer it seems as if i cant open a .avi from withinthe otgusb folder

    Looks like you haven't got an app that will open the avi. Try installing moboplayer and then try opening the file.

    No offense but rockplayer is rubbish. Try moboplayer (which is free) or Dice player (there's a free trial but after that you need to buy it, but it is the only player which can handle mkv files consistently).

    cool, I'll def take a look at moboplayer bc I have had ZERO complaints using RockPlayer. I upload avi's and everything does what it's supposed to. I'm just happy I dont have to convert files, what a pain back when I wanted to put movies on my ipod lol

    I just tried to duplicate your problem but with USB memory card not a USB HD (as I don't have one). I found that by browsing with root explorer and playing an avi on the USB OTG I could use rockplayer or moboplayer and the file played fine. So i think you may have some other issue here than just the software failing. BTW Rockplayer does seem alot better now than when I last used it.

    I ordered one of these eBay - OTG cables. will I be able to use it to add a thumb drive or half gig HD to my UNROOTED xoom 604?
