Sadly, such a thing does not exist. Capacitative screens like on the Xoom require a certain area of the screen to be covered to register a touch and a very fine tip just wouldn't work. That's why all the styli have fat rounded ends. As you quite rightly point out, this makes them wholly unsuitable for writing, but that's the best you are going to find.

I know targus makes some. I kind of made my own. It took a couple of tries on crappy ones but I actually used a pencil sharpener. I know sounds foolish and crazy but it gave me a tip to drawing.

    Smallest one I've found:

    http://www.amazon.com/Newest-Generat.../dp/B004HOHVJ8

a bit pricey though if the quality of this matches the quality of their case it'll be worth it.

Although the responses here rather prove my point, none of those has what I would call "a very fine" tip, Chaz21 got the closest and that is smaller than any other stylus I have seen. It might well be worth a look.

My stylus is almost exactly the same shape as the Targus one. It's fine for pressing buttons etc but I have given up trying to write with it.

I would say a DS stylus but the DS uses a resistive screen, I don't know if it would work or possibly cause damage.

It has to be conductive or it doesn't work. If you try operating your Xoom with a random bit of plastic nothing happens. At least you shouldn't do it any harm though. I think the glass is probably tougher than the end of a DS stylus.
