64GB Class 10 SD Card, Pre-formatted for Android

SanDisk are now selling a 64GB Class 10 MicroSDXC card, formatted specifically for use with Android devices!

    51b75XutX9L.jpg
Here it is on Amazon UK (£46.26 - Make sure you buy direct from Amazon!) - United Kingdom
Here it is on Amazon COM ($59.95 - Make sure you buy direct from Amazon!) - America
Here it is on Amazon DE (€62.29 - Make sure you buy direct from Amazon!) - Austria/Germany
Here it is on Amazon IT (€73.29 - Make sure you buy direct from Amazon!) - Italy
Here it is on Amazon CN (¥499.00 - Make sure you buy direct from Amazon!) - China
Here it is on Amazon JP (¥7,980 - Make sure you buy direct from Amazon!) - Japan

Checked all other Amazon regional sites that I know of (Spain, France, Canada etc), but they don't seem to have it available at this moment!

I can confirm the legitimacy of these cards, so long as you ensure that you buy new direct from Amazon!

Hey Simon, Looks like this means you have given this card (and the listing on Amazon US) the thumbs up?

Reason is, when I followed your link it took me to the US site and at the top was the message:"...You purchased this item on July 10, 2012...", actually I ordered 2 of them!

I chose this item because of the description etc, and the fact it was sold and fullfiled by Amazon as you had previously suggested in a different thread...

Worry ye not... you'll be fine either way! If you ordered the cards pre-formatted for Android, you're good to go "out of the box", otherwise my formatting guide will get you where you need to go If it's fulfilled by Amazon, you're fine

This sounds like a great card. However, I wonder why anyone really needs a waterproof sd card? So your tablet falls into the bathtub, but at least your sdcard is safe! lol

I think you're missing the point! The fact that it's waterproof means nothing (doesn't matter if you get an SD card wet... let it dry out and it'll be fine). The point is that it's a 64GB SDXC card formatted specifically for use with Android devices.

    Simon,

Thank you so much for the heads up on this. I ordered the $59 card from Amazon (US). It says it will take 2 to 5 weeks for fulfillment, which means nothing to me as my Xoom already has a Class 10 32GB card installed, but my question is, it doesn't say on the American site for that card that it is preformatted for Android devices. Is this something that is new with the SanDisk part number? Not that it will make that much difference, since I can probably use your method to format it, and I have a friend at work that has a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 phone that can probably format it for me, but it would just be nice to be able to pop it in a go.

Again, thanks for the heads up, always nice to be able to save a few shockles here and there. More I can spend on accessories for my Xoom.

Hmmmm, my aren't we the positive one!

BTW, the update you thoughtfully provided a link to have very little to do with the issue of formatting a 64GB card for use in an Android device, those Windows updates provide support for exFAT partitions on SD cards and allows formatting with that spec... What we are talking about is a 64GB FAT32 formatted card which that update does not provision for, either through a CLI process, within Windows Explorer or Device Management.

For a FAT32 format on a 64GB card you must either do that in the Android device itself or use the process Simon provided.

Entirely unhelpful! This does not enable people to format 64GB MicroSDXC cards in FAT32, it merely provides exFAT support for XP (totally useless).

I've already provided a guide on how to format 64GB MicroSDXC cards for use with Android devices from a Windows PC... but these cards are at a great price and would appear to be pre-formatted for use anyway (thus saving people the effort).
