Are you sure you aren't trying to plug the cord into the audio jack? The cable for the standard dock is the same as the standard cable. The cable for the HD dock is different, though.
If you bought a Motorola dock, the charging cable you have for your Xoom will work with the dock.
Can you takes pictures of what you have? Because I don't quite understand what you have, and why it's not working.
Okay just found out that the original xoom has a different charger connector, mine is a xoom 2 with a micro usb. The dock has a headphone like jack for the charger the two are not compatible so I need some sort of fix to connect the two. (sorry about the non tech terms)Opps need to clarify, I have a xoom tablet charger not a dock charger and was under the impression that it would work with a dock, I was wrong so I'm looking for a fix that will not require buying another charger. Ss.
Well that explains it. I am not sure if the original Xoom dock is going to work with a Xoom 2, even with the proper cable. The cables for the original Xoom dock are on eBay for $6 here and I would guess you could get them for a similar price on eBay in the UK.
The dock will not work. The USB on the dock is used for audio out.
