Logitech Keyboard or Moto Keyboard

This is a discussion on Logitech Keyboard or Moto Keyboard within the Motorola Xoom Accessories forums, part of the Motorola Xoom Forum category; I pre-ordered the Logitech Keyboard. I received an email a few days ago that it had shipped. I'm expecting it this afternoon/ evening (hopefully)....

The logitech keyboard arrived yesterday as I expected. I like it so far. The compact design is nice and I like the case it comes with (which doubles as a stand for your tablet but I already have the portfolio case). The length of the keyboard is longer than the Xoom, which means I can not carry it in my Chrome "Minimalist" bag but it fits fine my messenger bag and backpack. There are Xoom/ Android OS 3.0+ specific shortcut function keys at the top (email, browser, calendar, music, multimedia keys... back, play/ pause, forward, volume down, volume up). There are additional Xoom/ Android OS 3.0+ specific keys at the bottom (search, home, back, and menu). Typing feels nice and smooth despite my big hands. I did find myself looking for keys and my fingers feel comfortable on the "home" row (A, S, D, F, J, K, L, and ; keys). I felt as if I could type my regular number of words-per-minute without slowing down. At times, I wished there was a "Home" and "End" key for typing but instead I needed to use the arrow keys. The same is true for any "Page Up" or "Page Down" keys, instead, you use the arrow keys. I am not sure if there are any shortcut key combinations, however, I was able to copy and paste with "Ctrl + C" and "Ctrl + V" respectively. There are battery and bluetooth indicators at the top right next to the power switch. I have only seen them illumiated when initially turning on the device.

I have been happy with my purchase and recommend the Logitech Android OS 3.0+ keyboard for anyone who wants to type at length on their tablet and/ or doesn't have the Motorola keyboard. I hope someone finds this helpful. Peace.

Note: The keyboard requires four AAA batteries which were supplied.

GREAT review! Thank you so much - I was waiting to hear some real feedback before I ordered.

Anybody know if other xoom compatible keyboards including the moto keyboard have Home, End, PgUp and PgDwn or is this some sort of general limitation for a tablet keyboard?

I bought the Logitech while it was on sale at Best Buy this last weekend. I am very happy with it and the combination of it and a Bluetooth mouse (the Microsoft 5000) make the tablet very easy to use for word processing, email, spreadsheets, etc.

Old thread resurrection I know but with the current interest in Android powered mini pcs and set top boxes not to mention docked tablets I thought I`d answer the query about keys for the moto bluetooth keyboard. The motorola one has end, del and backspace but not home (the word processing sense of home, it does have android home), page up or page down. Normally this wouldn`t be an issue as there`s shortcuts for page up and down in the browser but I can`t find any for zooming in and out in Google Earth, which other people report can be done with page up and down.
