    Appointment Manager

    Hey everyone!

I am about to get my license in massage therapy and am joining the tech bandwagon. I was wondering if there were a good appointment manager that works with the xoom. I would love to integrate it with a web site, so I was thinking of just using Google calendar. Is there a better app for Google calendar then the stock one?

    Thanks a lot!

I've never tried it and not entirely sure if it's what you're looking for but how about Pocket Informant?

I've been using Pocket Informant for years (all the way back to Pocket PCs) and it is excellent. It was just updated for Honeycomb and the new UI is outstanding. One can maintain their Google calendars as well as an independent "Pocket Informant" calendar. And this latest version supports syncing with Google tasks.

As an appointment book it is a great app -- the new Honeycomb UI displays in many views and customizable colors and font size -- Calendar, day view, agenda and tasks, among others. There are a couple of screenshots showing the Honeycomb layout in the Android Market.

Link to trial version under description in Android Market.

Worth every cent and highly recommended.

How do I maintain my Google calendar? I have stuff on my Google calendar that is not showing up on PI. And how do make the tasks show up on the calendar instead of having a separate tab.

You select the calendar of choice (Google account or PI) in settings for syncing. Also, whenever you add an event, make sure it shows your gmail.com calendar and not PI. When performing a sync with Google the first time, Google will ask for your login account & password along with permission for PI to access for syncing. This is only required once on the first sync.

The tasks DO show up on the calendar if you have assigned a specific date, or range of dates, and have sync tasks enabled in settings. They all appear at the very top of the day or agenda view as long as they are active/not completed. For tasks to show up on the calendar/agenda, etc. you need to select it in settings. By checking "text" for the calendar view, your appts. and tasks (I think) will appear, albeit in tiny font and abbreviated. I've only had the new HC installed for less than 24 hrs. and am still finding my way around.

There are tons of customizations available and the UI is absolutely outstanding!! I'll look further and report back or you can PM me.

That's the thing. It never asks me to select my calendar of choice. It synced the holiday and birthday calendar but not my main calendar.
And when I go to add an event it only shows PI.

The original option to select the default calendar was nothing more than checking/unchecking a box but I cannot remember exactly what steps I took - it was really nothing complicated.

This is what I have in Settings => Events =>

    Default Calendar: xxxx@gmail.com

    Show Calendars:

    PI Calendar = UNchecked)

    Android Calendar (xxx@gmail.com) = checked

    Android Calendar (personal) = checked

Android Calendar (US Holidays) = checked

    What do you have?

Default Calendar: PI Calendar - can not change it.

    Show Calendars:

PI Calendar = checked, can not uncheck

Android Calendar (contacts birthdays and events) = checked

Android Calendar (US Holidays) = checked
