Have you looked at CoPilot or Navigon or Sygic? These are all GPS Navigation systems that work on the XOOM and are a lot cheaper than a GPS Device.

I am sure it does. It cached trips to Las Vegas from San Diego for me. I was going to suggest CoPilot but they really rip you off for the European maps. North America is pretty cheap. Maybe you could look into getting CoPilot North America and then adding the maps you need. Goggle CoPilot Maps and there are some sites that have maps for free.

When i do cache Google maps the maps are there off line but its still not possible to use the navigation right?
Maybe I'm doing it wrong but when i try it it never works. I can tell the area is cached but the turn by turn still won't work off line.

I am going to have to try out maps today during a short drive. I don't know whether nav works offline or not. Only one way to find out I guess. I just hope I am able to cache enough map to go 250 miles or so.
