I don't notice a difference... The two aren't actually paired until you pair them in the app, and I would hope they use push notifications instead of syncing every couple of seconds, otherwise the syncing would eat the battery.

I'm thinking push notification because the bt icons are not lit up on the xoom nor the phone. The only way I can tell they're paired is the green light from the Widgets. In bt control panel it still says paired but not connected but yet txt & caller id come thru

Yea that's what led me to that assumption as well.

If I have this setup but leave my tablet at home will the texts still come to my bolt or will I have to remember to disable the app?

Tried it but it kept rebooting my Xoom every time I tried to pair it via BT to my Nexus S. Email dev and he will refund me. Back to DeskSMS...
