This is a discussion on sirius xm for xoom within the Motorola Xoom Apps forums, part of the Motorola Xoom Forum category; Originally Posted by Stingray App has never worked for wifi only tablet. For those having issues, is that what you guys are using? If so, ...
I still can't believe they don't have a tablet version.. The app works fine for my Xoom 4G but to have to pull it from my phone is not acceptable at this point. These tablets have been out plenty long enough for SiriusXM to give us a decent application.

i sent than another email asking for an update and got a standard response about the phones they support and all of the ipad versions but no android tabs. Maybe it is some contractual thing. Going to call and speak to a manager and see if i can get more info. There are now millions of android tabs out there so it is pretty stupid not to support them.

For what it's worth, SiriusXM is just poorly run. I love the product and loath the company. Before the merger with XM they were customer oriented. Since then, customer service dwindled as their stock plummeted and continues to struggle. The problem is they are top heavy with overpaid talent (read : Howard Stern) and overpriced license agreements (read: NFL). Every subscriber pays the RIAA tax directly so it's not like they are losing money from subs there. I don't have anything against Stern and the NFL - I'm a fan of both. If they don't innovate and rebuild sooner than later they are going to die off against directly competing content streamed over 3G/4G/xG. It won't be long before Android & iOS are embedded into vehicles dashboards and every car comes with a 4G connection. I find myself streaming more often with TuneIn from my Xoom than I use the SAT radio ...

I agree. Follows the change or get left behind theory. They don't 'get it' that they need to fix things or they will lose new business.

maybe it somehow detects that there is a radio in the device, though i use it on mine all the time while in airplane mode with just the wifi enabled. that might not be the same though.
