just read about it this morning and was thinking about installing it on my laptop. says it works on android OS, but i have no idea about it working on the xoom. anyone care to give it a try?

It can use either sms or internet. It looks like it relies on an active connection, however. I'll try it out and see what happens...

Free version requires sms. Pro version can maintain connection or do scheduled check-in. I use the free version on my phone. I have tested a few times and it has never failed.
