Audio Book Reader
Is there an android app that reads books to you? Apologies if this has already been discussed but I had trouble refining the search down to what I was looking for. To be specific, I have a couple of books on my Xoom and I was wondering if there is an app that will read the books to me.

I know this works on podcasts, not sure of books. There's a paid version without the adds too.

No. I tried it. That app doesn't play ebooks. I vaguely remember when Google got into the ebook market they had planned some sort of ebook audio player but there was some sort of issue with artists that would be put out of work if an app could read a book etc... Anyways I was wondering if someone had taken a crack at it.
Try Ambling Bookplayer. Ive used for sometime and found very good
+1 for Ambling Bookplayer, I use the personal version.
Adios XOOM it has been, well an experience
iMac i5 OS 10.x
Again, I'm not looking for an audiobook player, I was looking for an app that would take ebooks and read them. But, here's what I've found...
Xoom has a native text-to-speech (TTS) function under the Accessibility options. Most of the ebook applications support TTS. So, technically, what I was looking for was a part of the native Xoom features. However, the native TTS voice, while adequate for menus and options, was too monitone and robotic to act as an ebook reader. I searched some more and found that there is an improved TTS voice app called Loquendo ($5.99). The short quips available through YouTube made it sound like a viable option so I decided to give it a try.
Loquendo is a much better TTS and it is relatively easy to set it as your default TTS. However, while excellent for small menus and phrases, as an ebook reader it is still to stilted to make listening enjoyable.
ez pdf reader will read any pdf file to you. just download the book in a pdf. you may want to download svox classic or the like to have a nicer voice.
i just tested it and punctuation is an issue
