    Switching to stock launcher

Had a look at GO Launcher HD and while it is fine - how do I get back to the stock launcher? I have uninstalled GO but that seems a bit drastic just to switch back?

I suppose if I chose the 'force stop' instead of uninstall that would have done it - yes?

    Thanks

Go into settings/apps locate your current launcher. You'll see default setting hit "clear default". Go to home screen. When you to hit the home button, you should see the option asking which launcher you want to use. Select stock and set the stock launcher as the default.
This allows you to keep the launcher if you decide to reuse it. If you decide to reuse it, clear default setting on your stock launcher.

Try ADW EX. I have been using it for awhile now on ICS and it is a fine launcher with many cool features not found on the stock launcher.
It is stable using EOS nightlies and does not burn battery power.

Nova and Apex are good ones to look at, too. They are like the stock ICS launcher but with more options.

Are you willing to root? ICS is just a few steps away!

TBH I'm not sure whether to wait for official ICS or to root (irrespective of how many guides there are out there the risk of doing something wrong is always there).

I have a few other events coming up in the next few weeks so I will put off any decision for a while and who knows I maybe won't have any decision to make then!

I am baffled by the air of mystery that is surrounding ICS releases, both for the Xoom and my UK non-network Samsung Galaxy S2. I work in software development and you always have some idea when the next release will be, within 2-3 months you have a provisional date and within 1 month (normally more) you have a specific date in mind. At some point, a few weeks before the release you have to integrate it into the schedule. Problems do occur and revised schedules have to be published.
So here were are almost a month into Q2 and the release is scheduled for 'Q2', It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that it will be late Q2 but yet the official line is zilch!

    Thanks

Contrary to my last post, I have GED-ified my Xoom and am now running 4.0.4 - it's brilliant! A friend in work is more knowledgeable about Android than I am and he did it for me, there was a bit of a hiccup initially but he sorted that out and all is well now. Not done a lot of research about it, had read that the BBC iPlayer wouldn't be available but it is, seems to be UK'd alright.

    Welcome to the Root!
Look throughout the forum under roms and checkout the goodness of custom roms.
I highly suggest EOS's roms. Enjoy!
