Netflix app causes my Xoom 2 to crash
Dear Xoom forum members
I want to know if any of you are having any issues using your Netflix App on your Xoom 2 ?
I recently bought my xoom 2 a few weeks back and have been very happy with it watching up to 15 hours of Netflix movies on my days off...yes I know geeky but I am a film addict.
Now I had no issues until the update from Netflix app on the 16/04 (UK) and since then my Xoom crashes and stalls. I have to reboot everytime this happens. Very irratating and frustrating.....
I got in touch with Netflix customer services and explained to them what is the issue.. firstly they did not even know what a Xoom was or what Android version it works on.. come on Google is now owner of much of Motorola ...the big daddies!!!
I explained that everytime I use Netflix now it causes my tablet to crash... they said they will look into it....
I then asked is it because I am a high usage member that ''they/app'' are deliberately causing my tablet to crash in order for me to get fed up and cancel my subscription? .......
I know Netflix knows exactly what and how long you use their service... and I know that they dont want high usage users as it means they will need to pay more towards whoever they need to pay to increase their capacity to stream online... Im no techie or know the terminology to such things but do understand how the business world works... nothing is for free!!!
Anyways I am making a stand and informing everyone of my ''opinion'' out there that their advertising is false because they dont want users having/using unlimited amount of movie watching and will force you out of subscription.....
Has anyone else here had this issue.....??? It would be a good test case if a bunch of us Xoom 2 owners try my theory out and watch as much Netflix in 2 weeks ..let it run and I bet you that you will get an update and your Xoom 2 will suddenly start crashing for no other reason than this!

Welcome to the forum.
Glad you decided to join us. Don't have a Xoom 2 just the OG Xoom, not having any problems on my end.

I have the XYBoard and it doesn't crash so I don't know? Possibly try reinstalling Netflix?

did you ever find a solution to this ?
i just installed netflix on my xoom2 and its caused the tablet to lag, and needed a soft reboot to get it back to normal.

Just an update. Still no solution, Xoom 2 still lags and stutters when I use it alone. And when plugged in via mini HDMI cable to my flatscreen freezes every few minutes. Getting really peeped off now...
I really do like Netflix and dont mind the movies being a little old. I am getting to a point where I will probably be quitting it...
I still think its Netflix's issue... I was a very high user ie maybe 8 hrs worth on my days off and I get 4 days off a week.... so yes pretty much glued to TV. Dont know why I still have a six pack
I truly believe if you are a high user they will push you out....my opinion.

As I stated ...I am a high Netflix streamer ...try leaving netflix running for few hour over a few days and see what happens...I bet you it will have issues no matter what the make of tablet or mobile ?!
