    Alive Video Wallpaper

This is different. I tried it out but all I could get to work was the rain one. Pretty impressive for that one. It shuts off when other apps are in use. Thus slowing anything down. Now if I could get it to find the other vids that would be great. It acts like it looks for them but just sits there and loads. Eh for free

The first and only VIDEO live wallpapers! Inspiring scenes from nature that won’t drain your battery or slow your device. Alive stops when another app is running or your device is idle, so it uses no more battery than a photo wallpaper. It saves to the SD card to prevent memory problems. No ads, no pop ups, just great video wallpapers!

*Coral reef *Lush forest *Desert dunes *Pool-side *Raging ocean *Night valley *Many more

TO USE: Connect to free and fast wifi > homescreen > long-press on empty area > live wallpapers > Alive Wallpaper

HAVING A SOUND CONTROL PROBLEM? Version 2 has this fixed. But if you downloaded Version 1, you have to uninstall and re-install the app. Sorry about this!

COMPATIBILITY & TIPS - Alive runs smoothly on 90% of devices - No app icon - find Alive in your live wallpaper menu - If 'raindrops' doesn't load immediately and you are stuck with a 'loading live wallpaper' screen, try pressing 'set wallpaper' or restarting the device. - If a black screen persists, try uploading the latest firmware *please* email over the details rather than leave a negative comment so we can roll out fixes (we'll then let you know when a fix is done): aintslack@gmail.com

LAST CHANCE SALOON: We've temporarily excluded a small number of models because of reported fails. If you want to give it a shot, we'll re-include your model. It'll either work or not, no harm done. Just email over a description of the trouble and the exact model.

Want to run your own video as a wallpaper? Check out the Video Live Wallpaper app, it's pretty good.

I downloaded "Alive Video Wallpaper" a few hours ago after reading about it on Android Police. It seems to have been updated recently making it impossible to change the video. At least that is what I have gathered from reading some of the ratings/comments. I am hoping this is temporary and will be fixed soon.

I create video wallpapers for IOS and Windows PC and have been waiting for a while for something similar to this. Its likely not to have the ability to use your own videos but as of now there IS a way to do so. I was able to play one of my videos in this app and it worked great. Slightly laggy at times but nothing too painful. The quality was also not so bad. I hope this little hole is not fixed so I can continue to use my custom made videos. I have saved a back up so I can go back if its plugged.

As for the "Video Live Wallpaper" I have used this since I bought my Xoom. It Was the only way to use my custom made videos. There are a few problems with this app though.
    1. I had to speed the video up by at least 2x in order for it to play at normal speed on the Xoom.
& 2. The quality of the video is not so great.

I think I may record a quick video showing both and post it here.

Looks like the issue with downloading videos for "Alive Video Wallpaper" has been fixed. I just downloaded all of the available videos. I am now about to convert a few of my videos and see if I will be able to use them in the app or maybe over ride the other videos as I did earlier.

Maybe a bit slow, your replacing theirs with yours? If so feel free to give directions.

Sure. Its insanely easy. All you need to do is rename an MP4 video to the name of the video file you are replacing and leave off the file extension "MP4".

    For example:

You have an MP4 video called "Thunder and Lightning.mp4". You will need to rename it to one of the videos that are currently in the app. I will use "Autumn Leaves". Rename "Thunder and Lightning.mp4" to "Autumn Leaves". YOU MUST LEAVE OFF THE MP4 FILE EXTENSION FOR THIS TO WORK! Now with your XOOM connected to your computer, open "Internal Storage" then "AliveWallpaper" folder.

(***There is a folder named ".AliveWallpaper" with a period in front of the name. Ignore this folder and use the one without the "." ****)

Then open the Video folder and rename the original "Autumn Leaves" to "Autumn Leaves Original" and drag your video into this folder.

Now on your Xoom, go to where you would select the live wallpaper, Choose "Alive Wallpaper" then choose to pick Wallpaper and select the "Autumn Leaves" and your video SHOULD be playing.

I am still looking for away to change the Thumbnail image so a picture of your video will show where you pick which video you want. I do not know any code so there is no way I can just add my own videos with their own names. The only way I know how is to fool the app to use my video in place of the ones supplied by the app.

I hope I didnt make it sound harder than it is. Its simply renaming an MP4 video and dragging it into a folder. I am also pretty sure you dont even need to be Rooted to do this.

Also, not all .MP4 videos will work. I had to run one mp4 video through a video converter for it to work.

    Thanks a ton!

Do you have any issues with centering it ? The first one I completed looked a bit low. It could be the video size it was recorded at. Maybe when I convert it to mp4 I should reduce the size ? I don't mean file size wise just dimensions. Once again, I appreciate your insight.
