Barcode scanner issues with google market and amazon appstore

So this morning I go into the amazon appstore to check out the free app of the day and it notifies me that "barcode scanner" has an update. I think thats odd since I installed that from the google market. I went ahead and clicked update. It told me my version wasn't from the appstore and that it needed to uninstall it. I clicked ok and it uninstalled then downloaded and installed it from the appstore. When I went into the app all I got was the red line on the screen, no camera the rest of the screen was black. I uninstalled it and then went to the google market and installed it and now it works fine. Now I go back to the amazon app store and it tells me that there is an update available for it.

So far I've been unimpressed by the appstore. It's a pain to use. Other than the free app of the day what's the incentive to use it?

I sorted this one. I installed Google Goggles and the Barcode Scanner from the app store now works.
