    Lookout Security alternatives?

Anyone know of any alternatives to Lookout Movile Security to locate your device if lost/stolen? I know about WaveSecure but can you use that to locate a device by GPS remotely? I sent Lookout an email asking about Xoom support but just got an automated response and never heard anything...

Advanced Task Killer and Antivirus Free works great on my xoom. Watchdog was ported over thru gmail (from my phone) when my first xoom crashed.

You do of course know you have no reason to run either of those applications right?

There will be. I just like to be safe than sorry. I believe Google found malicious apps recently and pulled them.

LOL if you pay attention to what you load there won't. I have not run AV in 10 years. That is Windows mindset my friend.

I still use ATK Pro or whatever it is just because I don't like having apps running in the background that I am not using... Don't know, guess I am getting old lol but for some reason it bothers me if something random I am not using (and is not running for background data reasons) is running so I kill it!

Oh I use ATK for the same reason. Almost like rebooting if you kill everything but core apps

Yea, but 10 years ago, these things were almost non-existent for mobile platforms. Now though, people with way too much time on their hands are figuring out how to put malicious apps on out phones, tablets and all. Not only that, they are becoming more frequent and tenacious in their attacks.
I'm not a paranoid person, but at the same time, I'm reading more about these things within the last couple weeks alone, and that for me is a wake up call.

To answer your question wave secure seems to work perfectly fine for me I have been able to remote lock my device as well as locate it remotely
