Tired of Slow and Laggy Weather radar - found Raindar
My biggest complaint with the nice, fancy weather apps for tabs is that the radar features seem to suck a bit.
Weatherbug seems to load slowly or incomplete, and sometimes not at all.
Accuweather doesn't switch the terrain correctly from Map/Satellite and you can't set it to default to map. Also it completely locked up my Xoom while typing this post.
Weather Channel - similar or same loading issues as Weatherbug
Did some installing and uninstalling of several other radar apps before Raindar.
Raindar loads radar quickly and reliably even on 3G - faster than any other options I've tried. It's one-tap-to-working-radar. I'm loading it from Beautiful Widgets Weather forecast - replaced the fancy weather apps!
Best of all - It's FREE!

"As a member of the Verizon Wireless Customer Council I received a Motorola Xoom for free in exchange for giving them and posting my honest review of the device.”

It still rains? We are in a drought right now. Heat indexes are through the roof. I feel bad for those folks being flooded right now but we need som rain. My grass crunches when you walk on it. Thanks for the link!
SDcard System Image Backup Using ClockworkMod Recovery v220.127.116.11.(RC4). Back yours up today!
I will have check this out. I gave up on Weatherbug and the rest a long time ago.
But for me, I had just bookmarked Wunderground main page for my area, and it's full screen radar page. It's worked really well for me so far.
edit: I just downloaded it and noticed that it is the Wunderground radar. It's nice, but if you bookmark the page, you have access to the same options & controls as you have on the PC. Nice find though.

I, like others, gave up on Weatherbug for several reasons. I tried several others also, and settled on Mycast Weather (Lite). The radar maps are quick and beautiful. The whole app seems to rock. I'll take a look at Raindar, but it will have to be something spectacular to outdo Mycast.
UPDATE: Checked it out and it looks pretty good! I'll continue using it for a while as my primary weather radar map. One little issue I noticed; the little clock that advances with the frames is in CDT and I live in EDT. I didn't see any way to change the time zone. Other than that, I like it so far.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: I shut the Xoom down and restarted, and now the clock is displaying EDT. All is well! I love computers.

My forum pet peeves:
"Alot" is not a word!
There is no "a" in definitely!
"Setup" is a noun. "Set up" is a verb.
It's "etc.", not "ect."
It's "because", not "cause"
this is a saweeet app! wish you could set it as a widget as well.
Cool find! I downloaded it to my droid x for now, plan on adding it to my xoom in a bit. More then once I have had weatherbug pro not even load a map when I needed it, and I have been wishing for storm tracks
welcome to the forum, thanks for the input!
