Road trip + Google maps + wifi-only xoom =?????
So, the family and I are going on a road trip of about 1900 miles one way. I am planning on using my wifi xoom as a God as Google maos are much better on it than they are on my iPhone. I entered my trip data, got my directions and maps loaded while on my home wifi. No when I start the road trip, is there anything I need to do to keep the maps cached on my xoom for the trip itself? Will my trip stay on myxoom for the entire time we are traveling, or is the anything I need to do to have it loaded and working for the whole trip? Also, does anyone know how far off the actual directions Google gives me, I can stray and still be covered by the maps, ie: detours, going around traffic, food/gas stops? Is there a way to adjust or download more maps and cache them from Google using my time wifi prior to our trip? In an emergency I can tether to my I one, but that eats up data pretty quickly.

Well you can download the maps with the newest google maps update.
Just go into settings>more>labs>click download map area
Then select parts and it will download the maps for that area.
The only downside is that you need an internet connection in order to use navigation. Otherwise you can browse the maps without an internet connection
