    No you helped a lot lol, i now know what ist isn't and what to do next. Btw, do you use some sort of notification option on your xoom to let you know when a new post has been added to the thread?

    Just thought I would leave an update for anyone else who has the same problem and comes across this thread.

    Today I rang LMI support, who ended up taking a look at my internet connection. After a ping test in cmd, we realized that the connection was suffering from high latency and packet loss - something which would be making things unstable and a strong possible cause for the constant disconnections.
    After making this call, I tested the connection between my Xoom and PC once more using the Ignition app. I don't have the slightest clue how or why, but for the first time since purchasing the app, the connection wasn't lost. Another quick ping test, and suddenly things seem stable. The only thing I did to the router was to remove and re-connect the ethernet cable and move the router as a whole around a little bit, so I'm really struggling to understand exactly what the problem was, and what I did that fixed it (for now at least).

    Another thought that came to mind was the possibility that Virgin Broadband (my provider) may have simply been having problems the last couple of days whilst trying to use the app, although it seems to much of a coincidence that in the few minutes between making the call to LMI support and testing the app, that the connection was sorted.

    So anyway, there's the story so far and everything seems to be working well at the moment. If things to back to the old ways, I'll be contacting Virgin with plenty to say

    P.S. Tapatalk seems like a good app. Does it run well on Xoom?
