I had the same problem finding the "universal xoom root file" when I was getting all of the files needed. I did manage to find it but when I was ready to root, it is no longer used (only for ICS).

There is another one "Xoom-Universal-Root_modded_4_JB" I have that as well but never used it.

Follow this guide Rooting Jellybean 4.1.1 OTA.

Welcome to the forum. If you're using an X-Tab the answer is no - this is a Motorola Xoom forum.

sorry dont know if this thread is still relevant, but I tried this got all the way through but when I go to reboot into recovery (through adb reboot recovery says device not found) it gives me "reading ODM fuse:1" and then I get the picture of the android laying down open with the red triangle with an "!" in it and no recovery, I've tried the recovery posted and went to cwm and go the lastest recovery on their website and neither worked, anybody have a suggestion?

edit: figured it out, i forgot that the xoom has a feature that overwrites the recovery on reboot so i got it working

Brilliant tutorial but I can't seem to find a link to Xoom-Universal-Root.zip that works. Does anybody know where I can find a working download please? I have a UK MZ604 with ICS 4.0.4 and just want to root for now. Will probably go for a custom JB rom next but want to take it a stap at a time. Any help greatly appreciated!!
