Unfortunately I seemed to have bricked my 601 going back to stock Telstra. I get the following messages on re-boot. Failed image lnk 0x0002 startring RSD mode 2 then some messages about the battery. The PC cannot see the Xoom anymore.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. Unplug your xoom from the pc and reboot the pc and the xoom with the buttons, press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the Xoom starts to reboot, then release them both. Plug the xoom back in and see if it's recognized. Make sure you got the correct images from here.

    Hello,

I am a Xoom (wifi only) owner from Malaysia. I rooted my Xoom today and upgrade to ICS following post number 1 & 2. It is really great to have ICS 4.03 running on my tablet.

I have a few question however,

first, my original file manager was missing (I chose EOS team's ICS), is there anyway I could get it back?

second, the there is a system update message popping up prompting me to download and update to ICS 4.04. I tried to download but it failed everytime...why is it so?

thirdly, as i'm still new to android and am not so familiar with computer programs, I wonder what is the use of the app "Superuser" that come along with the ICS ?

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. You can download any file manager you like from the market. As long as you're rooted you can't accept any OTA. If you want to get rid of the nag screen flash the Team EOS nightlies, they're already on 4.0.4. Here's a thread explaining the su app.

Thanks for the prompt reply. But I think I need sometime to fully comprehend all these....while I should enjoy the ICS interface...hehe

Btw, does it mean that my xoom will not accept OTA even if I unrooted it?

If for any reason you need to unroot your Xoom and flash back to the stock images it will accept OTA's at that time. If you are rooted you just don't accept any OTA's.
    EDIT:
Since you're rooted and running a rom you now rely on the developer of your rom for updates.

Hello guys have a quick question, am very new to the xoom and don't see the answer so here goes.

Would love to root my uk xoom wi-fi only, use ICS and increase the CPU sounds like all of this would sort some of my niggles with my xoom (very laggy and problematic even on basic operations) is there a way of doing all this on my MAC or would i have to use a PC.

Also, with regards to future updates you mention i am assuming that this only applies to the system itself and not all the applications, these still can update themselves through the market?

    Thanks guys

    Andrew
