Great to have you with us.

i just performed the upgrade from Eos 1.0.0 to Eos 2.0.0 with the advised version of Gapps, and can confirm that You tube needs to be manually downloaded from the marketplace. also the contacts link within the Gapps folder on the homescreen does not work [states that contacts are not downloaded] but the contacts icon that comes with ICS 4.0.4 [or put there by Eos 2.0.0] on the home screen does work.
    Great input..thanks

the upgrade went very smoothly no problems at all, other than that.

    thanks for all the work
    Great and welcome.

    Enjoy your Xoom

THANKYOU!!!!! I'm a complete novice to this kind of stuff but really fancied ICS on my Xoom.... followed your incredibly well written instructions.... and BANG! I've got ICS on my Xoom!!!!

For those unsure about doing this: obviously you need to consider the small possibility you'll brick your device, but if you follow the instructions to the word you should have your Xoom rooted and ICS'd within 20 minutes.... good luck!!!

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. Glad you got rooted, the Xoom is a very hardy device and almost impossible to brick. You'll end up with a soft brick once in a while but they are completely fixable.

I am facing a lag in performance - highly noticeable more so on browsing. This did not happen in version 1.0 . Is it just me or is anyone else facing this issue?

    You're using v2? Nightly?
Have you try clear browser cache and soft reboot?
