What a douche! I've just realised the instructions in the opening post cover what I want to do!

Is there a preferred custom recovery tool to flash to the Xoom and can you flash different ones, if you want to try others?

Could I flash a custom one, use it to apply root and then flash the stock recovery back on or would this cause problems?

Basically there are 3 you can use, you'll need to down load the .zip and extract the recovery.img from it and fastboot whichever one you want.
    ClockworkMod 3.2.0.0 (R4c) (New 6/10/11)

CWM Rogue Recovery v1.5.0 (Updated 5/6/12)

    Goo.im Downloads - Downloading eos-recovery-r6-softkeys.zip
The Rogue Recovery is a full touch.
    Astrix and MarkyPancake like this.

Hi All, it's been 2 days with ICS team EOS 2.0.0, I like it a lot. Maybe I will try other ROM's later or waay later (want to catch a break first after my first flashing, ha). I also performed Nandroid back up. follow the instructions to a tee.

My thought: It's great, fast, I like the USB host feature, and it's stable (my biggest reason I rooted my Xoom, is my HC stock kept crashing all the time), but today my battery drained very fast, I looked at the battery settings, the Office suite was eating up my battery, tried to stop the app but to no avail. then uninstalled it, so the battery back to normal. hmm, maybe I only need a powerful task manager?

    another questions though,
if I want to flash another ROM, do I have to repeat the process on post 2 (which isto Install CWM Recovery And Flash ICS Custom Rom) or now I can bypass it and go straight to android recovery?

and, like I said, already did a Nandroid back up, but reading that it's recommended to back up apps using Titanium back up?

Thanks and sorry if these q's are answered already. been read a lot of threads, but maybe I missed it.

    A. Do Your Nandroid (Optional & Advisable)
    B. Back Up your [Apps+Apps Data] with Titanium.
    C. Boot to recovery.
    D. Full wipe (wipe cache, wipe factory data, go to advance and wipe dalvik cache all within the recovery).
    E. Flash the rom and gapps (No reboot in between this flashing).
    F. Reboot to homescreen, set up.
G.Restore your Titanium Back up and enjoy.

Have you unlocked it yet? Unplug the Xoom from your PC, reboot the PC and the Xoom, make sure usb debugging is checked and then start again.

Astrix a big thank you I followed your steps and my zoom is now unlocked, rooted and running ICS, I got fed up with waiting for Motorola Australia to release ICS for WiFi Zoom i still don't understand why the WiFi Zoom needs carrier approval. Can't wait for JB. Now my Zoom is unlocked should it remain unlocked?
    zigackly and Astrix like this.
