I am running EOS ICS 1.0.0 on my Verizon 4G Xoom. I recently read some people having success renting Google movies and watching them on their rooted Xooms by using apps like Temp Root Remover or Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper to temporarily unroot. Has anyone had success doing this? I cannot seem to get mine to play the using either app. They both temporarily unroot my Xoom because I now longer get the message telling that "Rentals are not available on your device because it appears to be rooted." Instead, it lets me rent the movie, but when I try to play the movie, it seems to try and start it and then immediately force closes. I have been in contact with one of the developers for the unrooting programs and he has been very nicely trying to help me. I sent him a LogCat file and he determined that the Google Play Movies app is force closing right after it does its DRM License check. He suspected that I am missing an important library, but upon looking for the library files that he had on his device, it seems I have them. Does anyone have any ideas how to get this working so I can rent from my rooted device?
Thanks!
Regards,
Steve B.
